Michigan's Region 3 Healthcare Coalition (HCC) was established in 2002 to ensure statewide readiness and inter-agency collaboration to respond to medical and public health emergencies. We are one of eight coalitions in Michigan, and work in concert with all Michigan coalitions to meet the deliverables identified by state and federal guidelines. The coalition partners include 24 community hospitals, (including Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma Centers), 11 Medical Control Authorities with oversight of all emergency medical services, 64 long-term care facilities, Community health centers and freestanding clinics, and 10 local health departments.

The region has 14 Emergency Management offices, a Michigan Regional Epidemiologist, and the Public Health Regional Lab. The coalition has an established leadership structure with regularly reviewed bylaws; conducts annual training and exercises; and continues to incorporate new coalition members. Region 3 HCC serves the counties of Alcona, Arenac, Bay, Genesee, Gladwin, Huron, Iosco, Lapeer, Midland, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Saginaw, Sanilac, and Tuscola.
