Goals:
Enhancing Preparedness: Review roles and responsibilities of emergency responders, public health officials, and local government agencies in a chemical incident.
Testing Response Plans: Evaluate the effectiveness of existing chemical incident response plans, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that they align with the latest best practices and regulatory requirements.
Strengthening Coordination: Improve coordination and communication among different agencies and organizations involved in chemical response.
Objectives:
Review existing chemical emergency care assets and identify gaps that may occur during a chemical mass casualty incident.
Review agency/facility role during a chemical incident.
Validate assumptions in the HCC Chemical Emergency Surge Annex.
Identify changes that need to be made in the HCC Chemical Emergency Surge Annex based on the roles and capabilities of the involved partners.
Audience: Hospital Emergency Preparedness and Response Staff, MCS/EMS Agencies, Emergency Management, Public Health agencies, other agencies that may be part of a Chemical Response.
